Rape case: Seer called for tests today
Bengaluru, Sep 30, 2015, DHNS
Raghaveshwara Bharathi, pontiff of the Ramachandrapura Mutt, will have to undergo medical examination on Wednesday since the High Court has not passed any order on his petition.
The seer’s petition, challenging the notice by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to appear for medical examination, did not come up for hearing on Tuesday.
A senior police official said that the seer was issued a notice to undergo medical examination at the Victoria Hospital in the city at 9 am. If he fails to appear, the CID may move the High Court, seeking cancellation of his bail.
In December 2014, the seer had undergone medical examination in connection with the first case of rape. A team of doctors had conducted 13 different tests and the seer declined to undergo three tests. The CID issued a notice to the seer last week to appear for these tests.
