BENGALURU:The High Court on Saturday adjourned the petition of Ramachandrapura Mutt pontiff Raghaveshwara Bharathi, challenging a notice issued by CID on medical tests he has to appear for in a rape case, to September 29.
Bharathi has challenged a notice issued by CID to him on September 21 asking him to appear for three medical tests on September 30. He is supposed to appear for these tests in connection with an older rape charge levelled against him by a Ramakatha singer.
In his petition, Bharathi claims he has already undergone some other medical tests and as such the physical examination of his genitalia and other related tests are not necessary. He contends the CID cannot insist on him appearing for further tests without the permission of the court.
Apart from this charge by the Ramakatha singer, Bharathi faces another rape charge too
