Woman lodges sexual harassment plaint against Raghaveshwara Bharati
Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt seer Raghaveshwara Bharati, who is facing a CID probe in a rape case, is now in for more trouble as a 25-year-old woman on Saturday accused him of raping her.
Girinagar police said that the woman approached them along with representatives of the Janawadi Mahila Sanghatana and lodged a sexual harassment complaint against the seer. In her complaint, the woman alleged that the seer raped her in 2006 and 2012. The victim, who is a freelance artiste, was a resident of the mutt-run hostel. She has alleged that the seer of sexually assaulted her during her stay in the hostel.
According to the complaint, the seer and his followers threatened her that she would be “punished by god” and her life would be destroyed if she told anyone about the incidents. Vimala from Janwadi Mahila Sanghatana said: “We have lodged a complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Women”.
